Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How does it work?
You can read all about my general approach to photoshoots on my blog (August 2025 post). I'm also more than happy to jump on a call to talk it through with you if that would be better. Just let me know!
What is your turnaround time?
Turnaround time varies by session type and time of year — but this is always clearly outlined in your contract and booking email. If turnaround time is particularly important to you, please let me know right away; preferably before final booking. I can let you know right off the bat if I can meet your turnaround preference. If not - and if that's a requirement for you - I'd be more than happy to refer you to some other local photographers who might be able to help.
We’ve discussed a date, is my session confirmed?
No. No session is officially booked until all three items in your personalized booking link are completed. This includes your questionnaire, contract, and full payment.
What should we wear for our session?
This is actually a complicated question, because it really depends on so much. Like location colors, your aesthetic preferences, and number of people being photographed, just to name a few. If interested, I can send you a clothing guide based on the colors at the location you choose. I'm also always available to bounce off ideas via text, email, etc. But at the end of the day, I want you to go with whatever pleases you the most!
How many images will I receive?
Depends on the package. The exact number of digital downloads is specified in the session description and in our contract.
Where are you based?
Fairfax County, but I am able to travel within the DMV area. Further out may incur an additional travel cost.
Can you edit the pictures to be dark & moody or bright & airy?
Only for product-based photos. Otherwise, I edit true to color for people-centered sessions. If you prefer another editing style for a people-centered session, I highly recommend that you find another photographer.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! Reach out and I can fill you in on the details.
I booked a session, now what?
I'll reach out to you, in your preferred method of communication, to start session planning. Every single aspect of the session will be tailored to your preferences, e.g. mood/vibe, types of photos, types of shots, type of posing (or lack thereof), etc. My job as a photographer is to bring all my expertise to the table as recommendations, but ultimately, you're the boss of the show. Let's get you exactly what you want. That's what I'm here for.
