This October, I’m thrilled to offer a unique set of Fall Mini Photoshoot Sessions that have nothing to do with the foliage and everything to do with dahlias - a flower that blooms in Northern Virginia starting in the late summer up until the first frost hits in the fall. These Dahlia Farm Mini Sessions will be set at Fields of Flowers, a pick-your-own flower farm in Purcellville, Virginia.

  • Date: Saturday, October 4
  • Rain Date: Sunday, October 5
  • Investment: $335 (includes farm’s photography fee)

Each mini session is 20 minutes long and includes:

  • 15 high-resolution, hand-edited jpeg files;
  • professional retouching (as desired);
  • a private proofing gallery where you choose your favorite 15 images;
  • a clothing guide (if desired); and
  • an online final gallery with cloud storage of up to one year.

Whether you’re looking to update your family portraits, have a truncated maternity session, or have a unique, colorful backdrop for this year's holiday cards, this setting will be truly unforgettable.

FAQs - Dahlia Farm Mini Sessions

What should we wear?

Neutral tones and muted colors photograph beautifully against the very green field filled with rows of vibrant dahlias of all colors. The key is to vibe with the green and the dahlias' colors, NOT compete. Reduce patterned clothing to one person, maybe two max. If you want more detailed advice, be sure to let me know in your questionnaire when you book and I’ll send you my clothing guide for more guidance. But as always, do whatever brings you the most joy. They'll be your photos after all!

What happens if it rains?

I’ve secured a rain date on Sunday, October 5. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, your session will be moved to that date. I'll be sure to update you as the weather predictions change.

Can we bring a pet or extended family?

Sure! But be aware that additional people and pets may end up taking away time from your list of "must have" shots. We'll only have 20 minutes together so be sure to evaluate how much coordination time will be needed in having those additional folks - and fur babies - present. My mini sessions are stacked back to back so unfortunately I will not be able to add additional time to your session.
